urban futures: accra 2020
funded by LSE, artwork by Emma Hanson
Produced by Gold Host, this project will deliver an exhibition and programme of events that engage with questions of the urban future.
The exhibition will present a multimedia selection of works by Ghanaian artists, commissioned specifically to offer an artistic response to the title.
These works will provide the backdrop for a set of arts workshops for local schools in Accra, providing students an opportunity to share their visions of an urban future. Student responses will be integrated into the exhibition, as well as transformed into posters to be pasted onto the city's built form.
The exhibition will be inaugurated through an opening event, with a panel discussion on 'the role of art in the urban future.'
The entire set of works will be photographed, collaborated and formatted as a digital and print publication.
